Struggle to Change Careers from Oil and Gas

I am coming to the realization that I may be in the oilfield until the day I die.

Mostly everything else don’t pay anything worth a shit, or lose 5-10 years of my life to lost income and school re-climbing the ladder…

Employers nowadays pay shit for you to use your brain – so I used mine for myself, and took what western Canada paid for my body.

I never was fortunate enough to have bank of mom and dad to buy me an education and a home like much of the Asians have it, especially the communities back in BC. So, maybe this is how it’ll be.

I have been considering going to school full-time for Power Engineering for a couple years. (Full NAIT Diploma w/ 4th Class and 3rd Class)

As much as I’d like to go to law school or be an accountant one day, I do not seeing myself having the money to not work for 5+ years and borrow close to $100,000 on tuition… and restart at the bottom of the ladder.

Aside from the oil patch, I often don’t know what else there is there anymore.
